<p>Still looking for an internship? Eisbrenner PR is looking for a motivated, energetic, talented PR student to be a fall intern! They are looking for a 20-40 hour/week commitment, but are willing to adjust based on your schedule! The internship is paid and they just moved offices to Downtown Royal Oak (not that you should need any more convincing).</p>
<p>Grand Rapids to Royal Oak is a long way to travel for an internship, but the internship is paid and with the potential for a career, this could be a great opportunity for you!<br />

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Interested in going to National Conference in Washington, D.C. this year?</p>
<p>Want to know more about what the experience will bring to you? Here are a few tips that the National PRSSA e-board gave us to make our experience better:</p>
<ul>
<li>Dress professional for the Conference and appropriately for the events.</li>
<li>Bring souveniers from your state or school to exchange at the Friday night social.</li>
<li>Prepare a spirited Chapter cheer for the Roll Call at the Keynote Address.</li>
<li>Attend as many Chapter and Professional Development sessions as time permits.</li>
<li>Read your Conference program and highlight your first- and second-choice sessions in advance.</li>
<li>Since all sessions are offered ona first-come-first-served basis, plan to arrive early.</li>
<li>Take plenty of notes.</li>
<li>Don&#8217;t be afraid to ask your presenters questions or for contact information.</li>
<li>Introduce yourself to PRSSA members from other Chapters.</li>
<li>Attend as many PRSA General Session as you can to mingle with PRSA members.</li>
<li>Always wear your name badge and carry your tickets with you.</li>
<li>If you are attending an event that requires pre-registration, ensure you have your tickets be fore you <span style="font-family: FranklinGothicBook; font-size: x-small;"><span style="font-family: FranklinGothicBook; font-size: x-small;">leave the registration and check-in areas.</span></span></li>
<li><span style="font-family: FranklinGothicBook; font-size: x-small;"><span style="font-family: FranklinGothicBook; font-size: x-small;">Talk to as many public relations professionals as you can to learn more about the field.</span></span></li>
<li><span style="font-family: FranklinGothicBook; font-size: x-small;"><span style="font-family: FranklinGothicBook; font-size: x-small;">Bring plenty on resumes and business cards.</span></span></li>
<li><span style="font-family: FranklinGothicBook; font-size: x-small;"><span style="font-family: FranklinGothicBook; font-size: x-small;">Drop by the hospitality booth for suggestions on what to see and do in Washington, D.C.</span></span></li>
<li><span style="font-family: FranklinGothicBook; font-size: x-small;"><span style="font-family: FranklinGothicBook; font-size: x-small;">Don&#8217;t be afraid to ask the National Committee, National Conference Committee or our Conference </span></span><span style="font-family: FranklinGothicBook; font-size: x-small;"><span style="font-family: FranklinGothicBook; font-size: x-small;">volunteers questions about Conference or Washington, D.C.</span></span></li>
<li><span style="font-family: FranklinGothicBook; font-size: x-small;"><span style="font-family: FranklinGothicBook; font-size: x-small;">Exchange e-mail addresses and phone numbers with your new friends.</span></span></li>
<li><span style="font-family: FranklinGothicBook; font-size: x-small;"><span style="font-family: FranklinGothicBook; font-size: x-small;">Network, network, network!</span></span></li>
<li><span style="font-family: FranklinGothicBook; font-size: x-small;"><span style="font-family: FranklinGothicBook; font-size: x-small;">MOST IMPORTANT&#8211;HAVE FUN!!!</span></span><span style="font-family: FranklinGothicBook; font-size: x-small;"><span style="font-family: FranklinGothicBook; font-size: x-small;"> </span><span style="font-family: FranklinGothicBook; font-size: x-small;"><span style="font-family: FranklinGothicBook; font-size: x-small;">Be aware of your environment</span></span></span><span style="font-family: FranklinGothicBook; font-size: x-small;"><span style="font-family: FranklinGothicBook; font-size: x-small;">possible to reduce a thief’s targets. Keep your wallet or purse under your control always.</span></span></li>

<p align="left">SAFETY TIPS</p>
<p align="left">The Conference Committee wants you to have a fun time in Washington, D.C., but they also want you to be safe. Here are some safety tips:</p>
<ul>
<li>
<div><span style="font-family: FranklinGothicBook; font-size: x-small;"><span style="font-family: FranklinGothicBook; font-size: x-small;">Walk in groups &#8212; never alone. Walk briskly and with confidence to your destination.</span></span></div>
</li>
<li>
<div><span style="font-family: FranklinGothicBook; font-size: x-small;"><span style="font-family: FranklinGothicBook; font-size: x-small;">Keep a major credit card and a picture ID seperate from your wallet or purse.</span></span></div>
</li>
<li>
<div><span style="font-family: FranklinGothicBook; font-size: x-small;"><span style="font-family: FranklinGothicBook; font-size: x-small;">Use a taxi service when traveling at night, especially if you&#8217;re alone. Bring cash to pay the driver.</span></span></div>
</li>
<li>
<div><span style="font-family: FranklinGothicBook; font-size: x-small;"><span style="font-family: FranklinGothicBook; font-size: x-small;">Use traveler&#8217;s checks or credit cards instead of cash when possible. Carry the fewest number of items </span></span></div>

<div><span style="font-family: FranklinGothicBook; font-size: x-small;"><span style="font-family: FranklinGothicBook; font-size: x-small;">Be mindful of valuables. Don&#8217;t put valuable on the floor when in the bathroom or on the back of your chair at a restaurant.</span></span></div>

<div><span style="font-family: FranklinGothicBook; font-size: x-small;"><span style="font-family: FranklinGothicBook; font-size: x-small;">Have fun, but make sure your actions are lawful and becoming of a pre-professional.</span></span></div>
